Fluidra Expands Operations to Morocco with New Facility in Tangier

Fluidra's Strategic Shift to Morocco

In a significant move for the Spanish multinational Fluidra, a company renowned for its expertise in pool equipment, CEO Jaime Ramírez has revealed plans to commence production in Morocco before the close of 2026. This announcement was made during the presentation of the company’s financial results for the year, highlighting a strategic pivot that aligns with previously outlined objectives aimed at enhancing competitive production capabilities for international markets.

The new Tangier facility is expected to play a pivotal role in the company’s manufacturing strategies, allowing Fluidra to produce equipment for distribution across various countries. This development is part of a broader restructuring initiative that focuses on consolidating manufacturing activities in North America, establishing the new plant in Morocco, and shutting down one of its existing factories in China.

Financial Performance and Future Prospects

Fluidra's restructuring efforts are not merely operational; they are intricately linked to a comprehensive cost-reduction program. In the first nine months of 2026, the company reported revenues of €1.78 billion, a 4% increase in constant currency terms. Their efficiency initiatives have also successfully generated savings of €23 million since the beginning of the year, underscoring the company’s commitment to improving its financial health.

Additionally, Fluidra has formalized the leasing contract for its new Moroccan plant, which has implications for its net debt, reported at €1.145 billion as of the end of September. This new factory not only strengthens the presence of Spanish industry in Morocco, where over 350 Spanish companies currently operate, but also coincides with Fluidra's efforts to close one of its facilities in China and launch a new global research and development center aimed at fostering innovation in the pool sector.

Despite a slight drop of 5.9% in net profit attributed to €154 million by September, Fluidra has raised its sales forecasts while refining overall targets for the fiscal year. The group has also completed a €40 million share buyback program, canceling over two million shares, which is approximately 1.1% of its total share capital. In its latest corporate maneuvers, Fluidra has acquired Datapool to enhance digitalization and efficiency in the pool industry, alongside appointing Juan Graham as the new Chief Financial Officer.
