Moroccan Delegation Engages with Nordhausen University to Foster Partnerships
In a significant development aimed at fostering international collaboration, a delegation from Morocco's Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication recently visited Nordhausen, Germany. This visit was organized by the Youth Social Work Association of Nordhausen, highlighting the strong ties between the two nations in the realm of youth and cultural development. The delegation included key figures such as the head of youth facilities, the international relations officer, and representatives from local communities, indicating a comprehensive approach to youth engagement.
On October 27, Professor Dr. Jörg Wagner, President of the University of Nordhausen, along with Professor Dr. Andreas Seidel, who oversees the Health and Social Sciences department, warmly welcomed the Moroccan delegation to the university. The meeting commenced with an introduction to the university's academic offerings and research initiatives, laying the groundwork for meaningful discussions.
During the visit, Jana Kleinewalter-Müller, Managing Director of the Youth Social Work Association, and Vivian Grabe, Director of the Nordhausen Family Center, engaged in fruitful discussions with the Moroccan delegation. Their relationship spans over 25 years, underscoring a long-standing commitment to collaboration. The dialogue focused on exploring diverse cooperation opportunities in youth work and social services, which could encompass exchange programs for Moroccan universities, professional training for youth and social work practitioners, as well as internship opportunities for students from Nordhausen.
Looking forward, a virtual meeting is set to take place involving the Ministry, the university, and the Youth Social Work Association to further discuss these potential collaborations. Additionally, plans are already underway for a reciprocal visit to Morocco by representatives from the Youth Social Work Association next year, aiming to strengthen these budding relationships even further.
