Inauguration of the New Parking Garage in Marrakech
On November 2, 2026, the city of Marrakech proudly launched its new parking garage situated in the Arsa Al-Maash area, a strategic move aimed at bolstering the city's infrastructure for parking and facilitating smoother transportation within urban spaces. This state-of-the-art facility boasts three levels, accommodating a total of 383 cars and 150 motorcycles, thereby directly addressing the pressing need for enhanced parking solutions in a bustling city.
Among its many thoughtful features, the garage has been designed with inclusivity in mind, allocating 40 parking spots specifically for individuals with disabilities. Additionally, it is equipped with six double charging stations for both electric and hybrid vehicles, encouraging the uptake of eco-friendly transportation options. The facility also includes a car wash area, three commercial shops, sanitary facilities, and administrative offices, as well as three elevators to ensure accessibility for all users.
Notably, the garage has been fitted with photovoltaic solar panels, which are projected to supply up to 60% of its energy needs, showcasing a commitment to sustainability. The surrounding landscaping includes green spaces and a well-maintained courtyard, further enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the area. Furthermore, a modern fire prevention and detection system has been integrated into the structure to ensure the safety of all users.
The project represents a significant investment of approximately 86.85 million dirhams and spans an area of 5,094 square meters along Hmman Fattouaki Street, which connects Bab Al-Jadid to the iconic Jemaa el-Fnaa square, passing by the vicinity of the Koutoubia Mosque. This development is expected to alleviate parking challenges and improve traffic flow in one of Marrakech's most frequented areas.
