Oasis Lodge Marrakech: A Family-Friendly Alternative
Nestled in the picturesque surroundings of Marrakech, Oasis Lodge presents a refreshing alternative to the luxurious hotels typically associated with the city. With its commitment to providing an accessible yet elegant experience, this lodge caters specifically to families yearning for comfort without the extravagant price tags often found in high-end accommodations. As we recently discovered during our stay, the lodge is in the midst of transformative changes that promise to elevate its offerings even further. The establishment aims to create an experience that is remarkably attuned to nature, steering clear of the standardized and ostentatious luxury that characterizes many other resorts.
A Detailed Review of Our Stay
Our adventure began at Oasis Lodge after two nights at the Hotel & Ryads Le Naoura, continuing our Marrakech exploration in style. The lodge, founded by André, who fell in love with Marrakech years ago, is now run by his children, Véronique and Éric. This family-owned establishment is set to unveil 25 new lodges, a newly designed restaurant, and a spa, all aimed at enhancing the guest experience. During our visit from September 7 to 8, 2026, we stayed in a two-bedroom lodge, where we were greeted with warm hospitality and fresh fruit, setting the tone for a relaxing getaway.
Our stay evaluation was based on an extensive rubric encompassing service, lodge quality, dining, facilities, location, family-friendliness, wellness, and value for money. Although our one-night stay limited our experience with certain amenities such as the children’s club and activities like yoga and cooking classes, we were impressed by the lodge’s overall ambiance and offerings.
Upon arrival, the staff's attentiveness was evident as we were promptly checked in and escorted to our lodge via a golf cart. The lodge itself was a delightful surprise, featuring a well-designed layout, comfortable beds, and soundproofing that ensured tranquility. However, the private garden still needs time to mature, as the young plants do not yet provide complete privacy.
Attention to nature is a key focus at Oasis Lodge, with over 350 olive trees dotting the landscape and 120 varieties of flora that enhance the atmosphere. The 400 m² swimming pool, although spacious and well-tempered, could benefit from more frequent cleaning, and the absence of poolside service was noted. Nevertheless, families will appreciate the convenience of complimentary access to the adjacent Oasiria water park, ensuring fun for all ages.
Dining at Oasis Lodge was a highlight, with traditional Moroccan dishes that exceeded expectations, particularly the fish tajine, which was truly exceptional. While we encountered some minor issues with quality during our dinner—specifically the bread and the ambiance in the previous restaurant space—these concerns are anticipated to be addressed with the opening of a new dining venue designed by architect Emmanuel Pillot and chef Abdeljalil El Maalouli, promising a refined culinary experience.
Located on the Amizmiz road, the lodge is conveniently situated just a 15-minute drive from the vibrant Jemaa El-Fna square and a mere 10 minutes from Marrakech-Menara Airport. A free shuttle service to the medina adds to its appeal, although the occasional aircraft noise is something to consider. In essence, Oasis Lodge Marrakech is a work in progress, striving to enhance its facilities and offerings while maintaining the comforts that guests have come to expect.
Overall, Oasis Lodge provides a charming setting for families seeking a peaceful retreat with plenty of opportunities for relaxation and exploration. As the gardens mature and new amenities come online, this lodge is surely one to watch for future visits.
