International Video Art Festival to Illuminate Casablanca from November 10-14

International Video Art Festival Set to Transform Casablanca

The Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of Ben M'sik, part of Hassan II University in Casablanca, is excited to announce the upcoming 32nd edition of the International Video Art Festival (FIAV), scheduled to run from November 10 to 14. Under the compelling theme "Digital Arts in Response to New Configurations of Memory," this festival promises to be an enlightening experience for attendees.

Over the course of five days, the FIAV will unite the most contemporary forms of artistic expression, including dance, digital arts, immersive installations, virtual and augmented reality, audiovisual performances, generative art, video games, and artificial intelligence films. These innovative formats will be exhibited alongside the festival's hallmark video art pieces, as noted in a statement from the organizers.

Highlighting the professional and scientific dimensions, the festival will host various professional meetings focused on digital arts, bringing together artists and professionals from numerous countries. Additionally, an international colloquium, a series of conferences, workshops, and masterclasses aimed at students and emerging creators will further enhance the festival's programming. These events are designed to foster knowledge sharing, skill transmission, and the emergence of new talents.

This year's festival will see participation from a diverse group of artists, researchers, and professionals hailing from countries such as Germany, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Canada, Ivory Coast, France, Laos, Tunisia, Switzerland, and Morocco. The festival aims to engage a wide audience by utilizing multiple cultural venues across Casablanca and Mohammedia, including the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of Ben M'sik, the Studio of Living Arts, the French Institute of Casablanca, the Museum of Photography and Visual Arts, the Usine – Centre d'Art (Chraïbi Abderrazik Foundation), and the Higher School of Fine Arts ENSAD in Mohammedia.
