Unveiling a Unique Exhibition in Marrakech
Starting from November 14 until December 6, 2026, the Noir sur Blanc Gallery located at 48, Rue de Yougoslavie, Adam Plaza, 1st Floor, Gueliz, Marrakech, will present an extraordinary collective exhibition titled 'From Plant to Artwork'. This innovative showcase is dedicated to the artistic and ecological facets of paper, utilizing various materials such as plant fibers, straw, local plants, and recycled paper. The exhibition invites visitors to explore the immense possibilities that paper offers, including its diverse textures, transparencies, and irregularities. This initiative not only highlights the artistic expressions of the participating artists but also emphasizes the importance of sustainability in art.
Artistic Collaborations and Community Engagement
The exhibition's foundation lies in a collaborative paper-making workshop where the participating artists come together to create paper. Once this communal paper is prepared, each artist is free to express their creativity through painting, drawing, cutting, folding, assembling, or crafting relief works on this shared medium. Additionally, the exhibition pays tribute to Tibari Kantour, a master papermaker whose work significantly influences this exploration of materiality. To further engage the community, the project includes educational workshops aimed at both children and adults, focusing on the crafting of paper from recycled and plant materials. Specific dates for these workshops are yet to be announced, and interested individuals are encouraged to reach out to the gallery for more details.
The exhibition will feature an impressive lineup of 18 artists: Mustapha Amnaine, Rachid Arejdal, Rachid Bakkar, Amel Ben Brik, Ahmed Ben Ismail, Zineb Bouchra, Nabil Boudarqa, Mounia Boutaleb, Yassine Chraibi, Ahmed El Amine, Mohamed El Farkchi, Ahmed El Hayani, Redouan El Kerkri, Mohamed Hafidi, Ahmed Haizoune, Lhoucine Ilan, Fatima Kninir, and Hafid Marbou. The grand opening will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2026, starting at 6 PM, and attendees can expect a vibrant atmosphere filled with creativity and community spirit.
