Washington D.C. to Host the Tenth Edition of Morocco Day in 2026 Celebrating 250 Years of US-Morocco Friendship

Morocco Day in Washington D.C.: A Celebration of Friendship and Innovation

The capital city of the United States, Washington D.C., is gearing up to welcome the tenth edition of Morocco Day in 2026, an event organized by the Moroccan American Network. This year marks a significant milestone as it coincides with the celebration of 250 years of historical friendship between Morocco and the United States. The event will delve into the future of work and the transformations brought about by artificial intelligence, providing a platform for engaging discussions and innovative ideas.

This upcoming edition serves as a momentous occasion to celebrate a decade of initiatives aimed at fostering closer ties between Morocco and the United States. It will create a space for Moroccan professionals residing in America to connect with economic actors, academics, and entrepreneurs, while exploring collaborative opportunities in technology, investment, and innovation.

Founded by Moroccan-American businessman and media figure Mohamed Hajjam, who serves as the president of the Moroccan American Network, the event aims to broaden cooperation between the two nations. It encourages the exchange of expertise, transfer of knowledge, and highlights Morocco's investment potential, in addition to enhancing the contributions of Moroccan talents abroad to national developmental projects.

This year's edition will feature a specialized seminar titled “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Work: Who Benefits and Who Can Adapt?” This seminar will address the rapid transformations in the global job market due to the rise of AI applications, examining their implications on job nature, the skills required, and the future of businesses.

The discussions are expected to focus on four key themes, including the impact of AI on job restructuring and the emergence of new professions, the skills young people need to navigate the digital transformation, the issue of equitable access to technology, and ways to enhance collaboration between Moroccan and American talents to develop digital solutions and innovative projects.

A number of experts and specialists will participate in this seminar, including Khurram Zaman, a digital strategy and business transformation expert; Brahim Douaoud, a consultant in skills and digital transformation; and Mohamed Ali Hafiz, an entrepreneur specializing in AI applications and innovation.

Mohamed Hajjam will moderate the discussions, which are expected to address opportunities for leveraging modern technologies to improve productivity and enhance institutional performance, as well as the challenges associated with upskilling the workforce and ensuring that small businesses and startups can benefit from technological advancements.

In this context, Hajjam emphasizes that the success of civic initiatives should not be measured solely by the number of participants but by their ability to generate actionable ideas and transform meetings into tangible opportunities that serve talents and create a lasting impact. He stated, “Measuring success in national and civic initiatives is not just about attendance numbers; it goes beyond that to the quality of ideas and outcomes, and our ability to turn meetings into real opportunities that serve talents and create a meaningful, long-term impact.”

The Moroccan American Network will oversee the organizational and strategic aspects of the event, while AVActions, a company specializing in audiovisual production and modern technologies, will manage the technical and logistical elements.

Alongside celebrating ten years since its inception, this initiative looks forward to expanding its activities in the upcoming phase by promoting partnerships between Moroccan and American universities and research centers, supporting startups led by Moroccans abroad, and exploring new opportunities to attract American investments to various regions of the Kingdom.

This approach aligns with the organizers' ambition to evolve Morocco Day from an annual event focused on communication and cultural exchange into a platform that enhances economic and technological cooperation, leveraging the expertise of the Moroccan community in the United States to support innovation and entrepreneurship.
