SIYAHA Hackathon in Marrakech: Empowering Youth through Innovation
The Regional Directorate of Youth in the Marrakech-Safi region is set to organize the SIYAHA Hackathon in Marrakech from November 2 to 5, 2026. This event, themed "Our Youth... Ambassadors of Heritage and Cultural Innovation," aims to bring together a diverse group of young participants alongside regional youth directors, fostering an environment rich in creativity and collaboration.
This initiative coincides with national celebrations commemorating the Unity Day and the victorious Green March, showcasing Morocco's commitment to encouraging youth innovation and developing projects that celebrate cultural heritage while promoting sustainable tourism. The hackathon serves as a platform for participants to generate innovative ideas and projects that leverage digital and technological solutions to enhance both tangible and intangible cultural heritage while advancing traditional industries.
Areas of competition will focus on the digitization of heritage, interactive archiving, the development of immersive sustainable cultural tourism experiences, modernization of craftsmanship techniques, and the creation of collaborative platforms to promote local products. The program specifically targets young individuals aged 20 to 30 residing in the Marrakech-Safi region, provided they possess relevant training or educational backgrounds connected to the hackathon's fields.
By fostering collaboration and experience exchange among participants, this initiative is expected to create a vibrant space for developing innovative solutions that meet the needs of the cultural and tourism sectors. Ultimately, it aims to strengthen the contribution of youth to local development and the cultural economy of Morocco.
