Marrakech Association Responds to Russia's Veto on Moroccan Sahara
In the wake of recent diplomatic developments surrounding the Moroccan Sahara issue, the Happiness Association for Traders and Professionals of Prince Moulay Rashid Avenue and its vicinity has issued a strong condemnation regarding Russia's recent position. This response comes after Russia's use of its veto power against a resolution concerning the Moroccan Sahara at the United Nations Security Council.
The association's statement articulated a profound disappointment with Russia's stance, which they deemed disheartening and not aligned with the aspirations of the Moroccan people who seek a fair and definitive resolution to this longstanding dispute, which has persisted for over five decades. The organization emphasized that the Moroccan Sahara issue transcends temporary calculations and narrow interests, asserting it as a sacred national matter that is integral to Moroccan identity and national unity.
Moreover, the professional body urged the necessity of drawing lessons from international positions while reinforcing internal solidarity. They called for the mobilization of all vital forces, including civil, economic, and social actors, to defend Morocco's supreme interests through all legitimate means, including diplomatic and legal avenues. The association stressed that the Moroccan people, inspired by the spirit of sacrifice from their ancestors, are ready to make considerable sacrifices to defend their sacred land, reiterating that territorial integrity remains a red line and a symbol of Moroccan dignity within the framework of national constants and the strong bond between the throne and the people.
In conclusion, the Happiness Association reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the territorial integrity of the Kingdom, extending from Tangier to Laayoune, and expressed its steadfast support for His Majesty King Mohammed VI, highlighting their enduring motto: “God, Nation, King.”
